Heraa Hashmi, a student at the University of Colorado, at her home in Erie, Colo., on June 1, 2017. During a history class, a fellow classmate insisted that Muslims never denounce acts of terrorism committed in the name of Islam. In response, Hashmi created a database of over 5,700 cases where Muslims have condemned terrorism.
